THE 2026 N.S.W. CUTLERS EXPO
Australia's largest celebration of all things sharp!
The NSW Cutlers Expo (previously Sydney Knife Show) is Australia’s, and arguably the Asia-Pacific regions largest annual event celebrating edged tools and all things sharp.
Established to showcase the work of top Australian artisan makers, highlight knifemaking courses, industry suppliers, factory blades from across the world, along with live demonstrations from blacksmiths, Jacobite re-enactors, hand engraving, scrimshaw, whittling/carving, leatherwork, sharpening, taxidermy, and so much more.
2026 will see exhibitors coming from every State and Territory in Australia, as well as New Zealand and Japan, displaying all kinds of folding and fixed blades for every conceived use their is.
Think about how many times you pick up an edged tool during the day (kitchen or utility knife, axe, hatchet, scissors, multitool, razor, etc...), whether at home in the kitchen, garden, shed, farming, etc...,; most jobs require a knife, multitool or similar at some point during a normal day; then there's the weekend hobbies and interests that see them used all the time, like BBQ's, hunting, camping, touring, or carried as a life saving item when treking or bushwalking. Edged tools are everywhere in your life and are required for day-to-day living, make sure you have the right tool for the job, and it’s made to perform as required, our artisan exhibitors perform all heat treating, grinding, forging, handling and sharpening of their tools to make sure they are the best possible tool for the required job.
Edged tools are one of the world's oldest tools along with the hammer, bought from the stone age into modern times using modern materials, by the men and women who devote their life to the art of making the best possible heirloom quality functional edged tools they can.
There will be a large number of world renowned American Bladesmith Society (ABS) bladesmiths at the show, the Master Smith (MS) test, when passed, being the absolute pinnacle of achievement for bladesmiths the world over. There will be 2 Master Smiths, 4 Journeyman Smiths, and over 10 ABS Apprentices exhibiting at the expo with their WORLD CLASS handmade products.
Factory knives from the worlds best brands including Benchmade, Civivi, Ruike, Tops, ZT, Cold Steel, Ka-Bar, SOG, Buck, Kizer, Knafs, Jack Wolf, Vosteed, Japanese kitchen knife brands, Boker, Randall, Buck, Puma, ESEE, OKC, and many more.
Every Day Carry (EDC) gear such as multitools, flashlights/torches, pens, pads, prybars, coins, wallets, from brands like NEXTORCH, NEXTOOL, Notorious EDC, Tactile Turn, Big Idea Design, Field Notes, Vero, Vosteed and more.
Lots to see for everyone with live demonstrations and reenactors, including;
The Artist Blacksmith Association NSW - demonstrating a range of blacksmithing and bladesmithing techniques, watch them make an item from steel using fire, hammer and anvil.
The Highland Rose - Jacobite Living History Group - demonstrating 18th century Scottish Jacobite history including c18 medicine, weaving, weapons, muskets, fighting, cutting demo’s, musket firing and more.
Red Boat Kungfu demonstrating martial arts including the ancient ways of martial arts with edged tools.
Scrimshander demonstrating the art of scrimshaw, originally done by sailors on whaling boats in the 18th century to pass the time, centuries old artistic expression onto natural products by engraving or carving.
Engraver demonstrating hand engraving onto knives, rings, watches and more, an artistic expression dating back as far as 5th century BC, bought into the modern age by the use of pneumatic engravers.
Leather worker demonstrating the fine art of handmade leatherwork, one of the worlds oldest trades dating back to 1300BC.
Whittler/Carver demonstrating the use of knives and hatchets to carve and whittle timber into functional tools or art.
Sharpeners demonstrating the use of different stones and powered sharpening solutions for all types of edged tools.
Taxidermist demonstrating taxidermy with a display of items, a trade that dates back to the mummification of animals c2200BC.
Suppliers and Others - All knifemaking and forging supplies, timber, leatherwork, historical products, sharpening products, abrasives, EDC products, tools, machinery, PPE, and so much more.
Food and drinks - Full cafe facilities with a choice of food, hot and cold drinks; artisan food makers with a range of smallgoods and cured meats and chocolate; directly across the road from Sydney Fish Markets for those wanting a seafood fix.

Parking is available onsite for event ticket holders only (event ticket must be shown/purchased to park) at $15.00 per day per car, parking access is off Wattle St. The venue is a short walk from Wentworth Park Light Rail, Darling Harbour, and the new Sydney Fish Markets.

General: $15 Early Bird online / $18 at the door.
Concession/Veteran/Serving Defence: $15 online and at door (proof required to be shown).
Ticketing agency fees added at checkout.
Tickets are for 1 person for 1 day only. Passouts are available for the day.
Under 18’s are free to enter must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (over 18) with paying ticket. (proof of age will be required).
No sales of knives, axes or other edged tools will be made to anyone under the age of 18, proof of age may be asked for by the exhibitors.
